We (Zier and Mariska Lagendijk) publish Bible study material under the name Be Purified. We distribute all the material free of charge in the places we visit and make it available digitally on this website (bepurified.org). The material currently consists of booklets, study cards and articles. Whenever possible, we work with local Christian congregations and organizations in spreading the Biblical message.
The message
To be purified is a Biblical call and command. Cleansing of sins is possible because Jesus Christ voluntarily died on the cross, taking upon Himself the sins of all people. He rose from the dead after three days so that we can also receive new life from Him. In this new life, every true Christian is cleansed from sin by the blood of Jesus:
…and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7b).
However, this purification is not a process that we undergo passively. We are also called to cleanse ourselves:
…let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (2 Corinthians 7:1b).
God’s Word clearly shows us that sanctification is an absolute condition for entering God’s Kingdom. Although sanctification involves more, cleansing from sins is a very important part of it. So important that even the name of Jesus is given the following meaning:
…and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for He will save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).
We feel called upon to bring to the attention of this often-forgotten meaning of Jesus’ name. Our prayer is that people who read the publications come to a true faith in Jesus Christ. We hope to encourage those who are already Christians in their Christian way of life. We also try to disprove false teachings so that those who are blinded by them have their eyes opened.
