God is holy and He wants His children to be holy (1 Peter 1:16, Hebrews 12:14). He is the One who sanctifies and purifies (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, Titus 2:14), but we are also commanded to purify ourselves (2 Corinthians 7:1, James 4:8). Be Purified is therefore a Biblical call and command, which we are echoing with our ministry.
To help people in the lifelong process of purification we create free articles, videos, books and Bible study tools. All our publications point to the One who came to save from sins: Christ Jesus. We urge to follow His sinless example and emphasise that every Christian ought to walk as He walked (1 Peter 2:21-22, 1 John 2:6). We admit no Christian is without sin, but yet growing in holiness and bringing forth fruit (2 Corinthians 3:18, John 15:5). We encourage to press on until the day we meet our Lord and we shall be perfected (Hebrews 6:1, 1 John 3:2-3).
We share the Biblical message with as many people as we can reach, both online (with our website) and offline (with printed publications). We collaborate with all true Christians worldwide, although we do not know all of them. We are specifically called to address those who have never heard the message of the Bible and those who have heard a distorted message.
“Every Christian ought to walk as Jesus walked.”

Zier and Mariska Lagendijk
As born again Christians we saw the importance of purification of sins, both in our personal lives and for all humanity. We believe and experience Christ Jesus came to save from sins (Matthew 1:21), in order to restore our relationship with God the Father (Matthew 1:22-23).
We noticed purification of sins is not a popular topic nowadays: it is being trivialised, twisted or even left undiscussed. We felt the desire to do something about this and started to write articles in 2015. In order to be recognised we prayed over a name for our ministry, resulting in the founding of Be Purified (as a foundation) in 2018.
As a happily married couple we discuss every new publication, study on it and pray over it. We both write, whereas Mariska mainly tries to target the female readers. Because of Zier’s work as a graphic designer he has the skills to produce all of our publications ourselves. Zier’s study on the topic of purification of sins was bundled in a small booklet and published in 2019 under the title ‘Wil je gereinigd worden van zonden’ (Dutch).
Our board of directors consists of Zier Lagendijk (Chairman), Jan Paulus Monster (Treasurer) and Paul Cornelis de Groot (Secretary). The board serves on a voluntary basis.
Our financial policy
Jesus tells his disciples to freely give, as they have freely received (Matthew 10:8). The proclaiming of the Good News was never intended to be moneymaking. With Jesus and his disciples as an example we also decided to distribute al our publications for free, to never ask for money and to only take gifts from people who give voluntarily.
Being able to produce and distribute all of our publications ourselves we have few expenses (only hosting- and printing costs and postage). Our team works on a voluntary basis, and only receives money eventually to cover some expenses (such as travel expenses explicitly for the work of the foundation).
